Growing up with an insatiable curiosity Sushmita spent her time in the corners of many ritual festival held in buzzing Bangladesh during her childhood. Through the chronical of her many breaking points, she found solace into the beauty of composite artifacts derived from ancient Hindu rituals. Armed with an inquisitive mind, she vicariously alluded her imagination of the tell-tale ritual art into her individual style.

Her paintings pay a homage to her vivid imagination encapsulating the tease between light and shadow portrayed within the clouds. Currently, at the ripe age of 36, she successfully translated her accounts of memory and thoughts into her paintings. If immersed into the pieces, the figures speaks briefly of fascinating stories of identity, culture and society from Sushmita’s surroundings – visible to those who knows to look deeper.

Besides her continuous success having a futile imagination, Sushmita is now working as a photojournalist in Crime Discovery 24.
