Sundar Kendro promotes a gender inclusive space where people from all walks of life can come together and share their creativity. Our symbol is a ray of sun alluding to a new dawn – a new way of thinking. The uneven lines of ray represents diversity yet co-existing in one pace while permeating and brightening one’s path.
Our Pledge
Our pledge is to bridge the gap between different socio-economic classes and gender or sexual identities. Most importantly, incorporating communal harmony in our society. Hence, we want to create an equal reality for each individual. Thus far, we have empowered marginalized communities such as Hijras to develop their skills in art and culture. Through facilitating a sense of individuality in each other Sundar Kendro intends to shift a positive change into work culture where Hijras can be hired in their desired workplace without facing any discrimination. Further, to instil values of utmost respect so that they can co-exist among different backgrounds of people.
When Bangladesh first gained its independence, our country flourished with ardour. A hungry generation that wanted to bestow positive impact for the development of our country. On the contrary, at present, we are witnessing an exhausted generation. The overall energetic spirit that our country once held is gradually getting lost with time. Through the works of Sundar Kendro we want to awaken the energy in the souls of our civilization. To impart the values of compassion and innovation in both the young and older generation of the country. The amalgamation of these factors can be grounded in one ‘centre’ – Sundar Kendro. When people start to adopt our objectivity in their own minds they all become beautiful instruments without knowing it. Once again we are uniting a civilization who share their experience with courage, history with poetry and image with melody.
